I am now living in the rental APT in SE Houston. The neighborhood is good, safe and quiet. A public swimming pool is just behind where I live.The rental fee for my 1 bed 1 bathroom apt is 700usd/m,exclude other bills such as water and trash fees.Most importantly, the apt is very close to the place I work, around 1 mile I think. Therefore, I don't need to drive, but just ride my 88-dollar-walmart bicycle.
People in Houston drives rudely. It is totally different from people in the small town where I completed my master degree. I am always carefully riding on the very right side of the road and stop for a while before crossing the intersection. In this case, it takes me 15 min from home to my work place.
By the way, I don't know why Americans lives so dispersive that everyone have to have a car and drive miles away to just get a carton of cigar. In China, it is always within walking distance that you can find a convenient store because people resides closely and the convenient store owner never worries about the business.
现在住在离上班的地方大概一英里远的一个小区里。一室一厅，房租是700美金一个月，不加水电气。这一块是休斯敦比较好的一个住宅区了，所以比较安全。不像中国城那边，天天都有案子要破。我的公寓后面是一个露天游泳池，每天去泡一下，很舒服。
住在这里的另一个好处就是可以不用开车，每天骑脚踏车去上班就好了。休斯敦的人开车很凶猛，一点不像上大学那个小镇上的人懂得谦让与有礼。所以，我总是骑得小心翼翼的，靠着路边。不然，他们一定会毫不留情的撞上我的，这点我可以确定。
真是想不明白，美国人为什么把城市设计得这么分散。大家住的地方隔着十万八千里远，谁也够不着谁。就连买包烟这样的小事也要开上至少几迈才行。难道是为了刺激经济增长？可是，就这样，底特律的汽车业还是垮掉了啊，想想真是让人费解。以前在国内的时候，要买什么东西，下楼就是便利店，还真是方便呀！
