What a Tired Day!

    Jin and I went to buy new furniture for my apt. 
    First,we were trying to get some from garage sales. So, we spent almost 2 hours driving around the neighborhood but found nothing. Most of the good deals were gone. Then, we had to drive 20 miles more to IKEA. The IKEA price really surprised me. Most of the furnitures were so expensive. For example, a regular dinning table sells for more than 100 dollars excludes any chairs.
    Having been in the U.S. for 2.5 years, but that was the 1st time I buy furnitures. Most of the Chinese students keep the old furniture and pass them to the new students when they graduate. I still remember that day upon my arrival on campus, students of Chinese Student Association contactedme and brought me all furnitures I need, such as dinning table, study table, two chairs and the mattress. That was so sweet!
    Finally, I decided to buy a combo which includes a glass top table and four white chairs. This combo sells for only 99.99 dollars and was the only affordable one I found for me.Then it took us one hour more to connect all the parts together. The labor fee in the U.S. is 20 or even 30 times more than in China, DIY is always a good choice.Sometimes, people spend 100 dollar to buy furniture, but pay 200 hundred dollars for the labor fee if they don't DIY.

    lol, still a poor student in the start-up step, I told myself that I will have money to buy other furnitures I need after a few months working. And finally, if I succeed one day, I will have what I want: a big house located on the lake side and a boat. A ranch to keep my horses. Most importantly, I will be able to financially support my family, my parents and my sweet heart. I will be able togive the best education to my kids and buy the best accordion for them. Everyone come to the U.S. with their dreams, and  this may be my so-called American dream.

林津一早起来陪我去买家具。今天是周六，我们就先去看周围邻居街坊有啥旧货卖没，这样会比买新的便宜很多。结果，逛了半天，发现好的deal全都已经卖出去了，只剩下些什么旧衣服啊，小孩子的玩具一类的东西。没办法，只好再开20迈去IKEA。
IKEA的新家具都超贵的，粗略的看了看，光是一个普通得不能再普通的饭桌就要卖至少120多美金。和国内比起来，这价格基本是不可接受的。哈哈，来美国两年半了，还是改不掉这习惯，买东西还爱和国内比价。逛了半天，突然看到一个deal，赶紧拿下。100块钱，一张玻璃桌面的饭桌，再加上铁腿白塑料椅子4把的套装。别的家具就以后慢慢来吧，还是穷学生一枚，什么都要精打细算着来。等工作几个月再添置别的家具好了。很怀念在学校的时候，总是可以捡到实用的旧家具。中国学生一代一代的把旧家具往下传，为后来人省了不少的钱。我来美国这么久，这还是第一次自己掏钱买家具呢。不过，面包会有的，牛奶也总会有的。每一个拥有美国梦的人，只要肯努力，总会有所收获的。希望有一天我也能实现自己的愿望，住在湖边的大屋子里，有一艘小船可以开着钓鱼。在有一小片地，养着自己的马。把父母，妻子和孩子都安排得好好的。给孩子最好的教育，还给他们买最好的手风琴（哈哈，悲剧的是，身为学过教育理论的人，我还是深受中国家长式教育理念影响，准备强迫他们学手风琴。）嗯，我的梦想，一定会实现的，加油！
